Welcome to my “new” blog!
It’s been a busy couple of days. Between visiting relatives and working on migrating my blog from WordPress.com to self-hosting, it’s been hectic.
I’m proud to say I’ve mostly successfully migrated my blog to self-hosting (as you can see). The process was confusing at times for someone who doesn’t know much about building websites and coding, but nothing Google and lots of trial and error could not fix.
Why migrate you ask? Simply put, WordPress.com is simple to use if you just want a diary to write in, but it places too many restrictions on the free product. The premium product is too expensive to overcome these restrictions compared to self-hosting, so here I am.
Why is it still beta? While the main content is up, I’m looking to test for bugs/broken links, set up Google Analytics and Adsense, tweak the design of the blog and explore the endless possibilities of plugins. So feel free to report any bugs for my rectification.
That’s it from me, Happy Lunar New Year everyone! Huat ah!
Regards,
KK

Heys,
Just saw that you have shifted to your own hosting service.
I was wondering what hosting service are you using and how are the rates like?

Azrael
Hi Azrael,
I’m using Bluehost, recommended by WordPress. Their basic plans start at USD2.95/month.

Weird, your reply didn’t show up on my email. Just saw it.
I’m using Siteground for other purposes, but they are charging about 6USD/month. Will have a look, thanks man.
Warmest regards
Azrael
