It’s the last day of 2021! Time to round off the year with my annual Performance Scorecard
Investments
Portfolio @ December 2021

Uneventful end
December turned out to be a relatively uninteresting month. Markets were largely driven by macro sentiments like Fed Tapering and Omnicron fears. Structural headwinds weighed on crypto as well, with many funds taking profits to lock in bonuses. Crypto development teams also took the opportunity to wind down development announcements for the holidays.
Consequently, I took a chill pill this month with not much focus on the investment front. My portfolio closed down on the month at $2,381,087.
2 years of Endowus

My Endowus passive CPF strategy has been kind to me this year, very much tracking US indices. One thing I’ve been thinking about is how to navigate the “everything bubble” next year and how that might affect my Endowus portfolio strategy. Will need to sleep on it before I decide on a course of action.
If you want to learn more about Endowus, do check out my review (Cash/SRS/Fund Smart portfolio details to be updated). Also, if you’re interested in opening an account, do feel free to sign up through my referral link. We will both receive $20 off access fees per referral.
2021 Annual Review
Next, let’s take a look at my annual performance. I’ll be relying heavily on Stocks.Cafe to provide my performance computations for my stock portfolio. I don’t provide return metrics on my crypto portfolio per usual.
Portfolio value

I wrote 1 year ago that 2020 was an unprecedented year. That statement seems to ring hollow on hindsight as I look at this chart.
I’ve managed to quadruple my portfolio in the past year while drawing down over $60k in the past year. This makes it my most profitable year ever.
While this looks like financial pornography and I discourage readers from reading too much into it, I still maintain that crypto is an asset class you cannot afford to ignore in the next decade. There is a very direct correlation between effort and returns, something that I experienced this year both in opportunities taken and missed.
XIRR and TWR
My TradFi XIRR and TWR for this year are 15.16% and 1.17% respectively. These represent significant decline in my attention to traditional investments and a reflection of how S-REITs have been pretty boring this year.
For the hell of it, I computed my portfolio XIRR using Excel’s native XIRR function and it arrived at a XIRR of 308% this year. Lol well not very representative of how to calculate XIRR but thats all I have for you guys.
Dividends (Traditional Portfolio)

Similar to my TradFi portfolio’s stagnation, dividends also experienced a stagnation this year. Doesn’t include my crypto yields.
Signing Off on 2021
2021 has been a life changing year for me. What started as an uncertain year as a unemployed person quickly clarified itself on crypto going mainstream. Now I have time to work on myself and my hobbies, which I may someday share with you guys.
I will write a more detailed reflection post on my crypto journey in 2021 next week as there’s a ton of stuff for me to reflect on. Something that deserves a dedicated post.
Wishing all my readers, happy new year!
